Meeting with my clients
I think there is nothing better than meeting face to face with my clients before their photo session. This allows us to discuss what it is exactly that they want to get out of their photo shoot. I am an organizer at heart, so being on the same page with my clients makes the session more of a fun and memorable experience.

Being a mom of two little girls, I understand how precious any spare time can be. If you are not able to meet before your photo session, a phone call can be just as good with getting a good game plan in place.

A newborn photo shoot is a delicate and patient process. Your new bundle of joy is on her or his schedule. Don't worry; we can take as many breaks for dirty diapers, feedings, etc... as needed to capture those first precious memories of your little one. A newborn session usually runs about 2.5 to 3 hours, so I make sure to leave plenty of room in my schedule so we aren't rushed.

If there are any special items, such as a stuff animal, blanket or hat, that you would like your child to be photographed with, make sure to have it with you at the photo shoot.

Remember to pack some snacks and drinks for your little one to the photo session. Kiddos are more cooperative with having their picture taken when they have a full belly. Please take into consideration that potty breaks are sometimes not as readily available when we are on location outdoors.

How long is a photo session?
A typical photo session can take anywhere from one to two hours. Keep this in mind when booking your photo session. Early morning and evenings are the best time of day for lighting when taking outdoor photos.

Choosing a Location
Since professional photography is an investment, I want to make sure you feel comfortable with your surroundings so that you will feel more comfortable while we are taking photos. Picking a location that has meaning to you will make the photos that much more special. Or, if you want to try a new location, that's great, we can pick a fun new place that may become your new favorite hot spot.

If you feel more comfortable at home, especially with a newborn, I can travel to you.

I currently travel in the Reno/Sparks/North Lake Tahoe area. Call me for any travel fees outside of these areas.
